International media writes about Romanian minister Udrea's expensive D&G dress
Romanian Tourism Minister Elena Udrea has again caught the attention of the international media after Romanian journalists reported about an expensive Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore during a TV show, as well as during a press conference (in picture).
The starry dress costs more than what the average Romanian makes a month, Romanian journalists have reported. The Associates Press wrote a story about it, which has been also published by the Washington Post, Boston Globe and San Francisco Chronicle. The Associated Press article was titled 'Romanian tourism minister defends expensive frock after press accuse her of insensitivity'.
The dress, in a slightly different model, is available for sale in the D&G online store, at a price of EUR 725. Check it out here. Udrea, who is know for her love for purses, shoes and expensive clothing, admitted the dress was a gift from her husband and that it cost around EUR 900 (GBP 780).
Commentators have criticized the Tourism Minister for the purchase, especially given the economic downturn in the country. This is not the first time the Romanian Minister makes headlines in the international media. She has been reported to wear expensive high heel shoes when visiting areas of Romania which had been flooded and to have donated shoes to people who lost their homes.
