International team of 200 to run for Hospice Casa Sperantei in Bucharest Marathon

A team of around 200 people will run for Hospice Casa Sperantei at the Bucharest Marathon on October 9. Runners from UK, Scotland, US, Portugal, Germany, the Republic of Moldova and Romania will be part of the Hospice team in the marathon this year. Tennis players Victor Hanescu, athlete Gabi Szabo, swimmer Irina Hanescu, singer Ellie White, actor Dorian Boguta will be part of the team of runners for Hospice Casa Sperantei. In last year's race, Hospice had 249 runners and raised EUR 40,000.

Those who want to sign up for the race and help Hospice raise money, can still do so on www.hospice.ro. Funds raised at the event helped support the Hospice's palliative care services that are offered for free to children with cancer, leukemia and neural-muschular dystrophy. Hospice Casa Sperantei provides specialist care to children and adults with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The Hospice was set up by Graham Perolls in 1992 and was initially active in Brasov.
