Intesa Sanpaolo Bank launches bike-sharing program for employees in Romania
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank has launched a free bike-sharing program for its employees in Romania, in Bucharest and in Arad. The bikes were supplied by Biciclop store. Biciclop was opened in 2009 in Romania and sells mostly urban bikes.
The program joins a similar initiative started in 2010, called “Bicicleta cu cravata” (Ties on bikes). ING Bank employees can use the free bikes, part of the program initiatied by Green Revolution. The Romanian central Bank (BNR) employees are also part of the same program. Orange Romania, Raiffeisen Bank and bpv Grigorescu Stefanica law firm's employees can also use bikes within this bike-sharing program.
These are part of a wider trend which has picked up in the Romanian capital and in other cities in Romania. More and more people use bikes on a daily basis, while bike-sharing centers have been created in several parks and enjoy popularity, especially during week-ends. Biking competitions and events, both in Bucharest and across the country, have also become increasingly popular.
