Fashion designer Roberto Cavalli (in picture, right) attended a gala event at his new store in Bucharest's JW Marriott hotel in person last week. He was joined by Russian model Irina Shayk (in picture, left) and 800 guests for the evening.

Romanian fashion designer Cătălin Botezatu welcomed Cavalli and the evening went off with the usual accoutrements; champagne and a display of the Italian designers creations. Cavalli said he hoped to return to Romania with a “special line.”

The luxury fashion brand Roberto Cavalli opened the mono-brand store in Bucharest late last year, in The Grand Avenue fashion galleria of the five-star hotel JW Marriott. The 150 sqm store in Bucharest included 130 different items from the fall-winter 2012/2013 collection.

The store required investments of some EUR 600,000 and joins other famous fashion names in the same galleria, such as Escada, Valentino, Alfred Dunhill, Rolex, Davidoff, Ermanno Scervino, Stefanel, and Louis Vuitton.

Roberto Cavalli is an Italian fashion designer from Florence, who is known for using exotic prints and the sand-blasted jeans. Cavalli’s business, which was founded in 1970, runs stores around the world.
