Italian Policlinico di Monza invests EUR 40 mln in new Bucharest hospital
The Italian group Policlinico di Monza, which owns 10 private hospitals in Italy, has made an investment of EUR 40 million in a specialized hospital unit with 140 beds in Bucharest, which has been running since this summer.
Construction of the Monza Hospital in Bucharest began two years ago. The hospital has seven floors and eight operating rooms (two for cardiac and general surgery, and one for orthopedics, thoracic surgery, vascular, and an emergency room). The new hospital is near the Lia Manoliu stadium.
The unit is specialized in cardiovascular surgery, but also provides related services such as general cardiology, orthopedics, and others.
Investments necessary for the development of the hospital were provided by the company's shareholders and it is one of the largest projects to date on the Romanian private medical services market.
