Italy’s President Giorgio Napolitano arrives in Romania for two-day state visit

Italy’s President Giorgio Napolitano is currently on a two-day state visit in Romania and will stay until September 16, invited by the Romanian President Traian Basescu, according to the Romanian Presidency.

“The meeting between the two Presidents will allow discussions about current issues that are on the bilateral, European and international agenda”, according to the Presidency.

During his visit President Giorgio Napolitano, who is accompanied by the Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, will meet the Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc, and the presidents of the Parliament’s two chambers.

Giorgio Napolitano is the 11th and current President of the Italian Republic. He was elected on May 10, 2006.
