James Thierrée, Charlie Chaplin's grandson to bring illusion, dance, pantomime and theater to Bucharest
French artist James Thierrée will present for the first time his show “Raoul” in Bucharest on April 29, April 30 and May 1 at the Great Hall of the National Theatre, starting 20,00 hours. The three representations of the award-winning show “Raoul” will bring a unique combination of illusion, dance, pantomime and theater.
Due to his parents, Jean-Baptiste Thierrée and Victoria Chaplin (Geraldine Chaplin's sister), founders of Circus Bonjour, James Thierrée grew up among acrobats. He graduated the acting classes at renowned institutions, including the Piccolo Teatro of Milan and the Conservatoire National Supérior d'Art Dramatique in Paris. At only 15 years he played Ariel in "Prospero's Books", Peter Greenaway's film, and in 1998 he created his own theater company, „La Companie du hanneton". Thierree is the grandson of actor Charlie Chaplin and the great-grandson of playwright Eugene O'Neill.
James Thierrée conquered audiences worldwide since its first show, a combination of theater, circus and dance, for which he was rewarded in 2005 with the prestigious Adami award. A year later, he won not less than four Molière awards. Tickets for this event can be purchased from the box office of the Bucharest National Theatre for RON 30, 50, 80 and RON 100.
