Japanese post-rock band Mono to perform their symphonic guitar music in Bucharest
Post-rock Japanese band Mono will be performing for the first time in Bucharest at the The Silver Church club, on March 11, 2013. The gig is part of a tour of promoting their new album For My Parents.
Mono formed in 1999 in Tokyo, releasing their first album Under the Pipal Tree in 2001. Since then, Mono have made six albums, with the most recent For My Parents released in September 2012.
Although guitar driven, right from the outset Mono have taken quite an experimental approach to their instrumental almost symphonic music, using samples and effects, as well as orchestral instruments. The band's members are Takaakira Goto (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Hideki Suematsu (electric guitar, glockenspiel), Tamaki Kunishi (bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, glockenspiel), and Yasunori Takada (drum kit, glockenspiel, synthesizer).
Tickets can be purchased online on www.iabilet.ro and www.metalhead.ro/bilete, or on the night of the concert at the club for RON 60. Listen to a few of their tunes below.
