The unemployment rate in Romania reached 7.1% in May, up 0.2 percentage points compared to April and up 0.3 pp compared to May 2014.
The number of unemployed aged 15-74 amounted to 646,000. The unemployment rate among men (7.8%) was higher than the one among women (6.2%), according to the National Statistics Institute.
The unemployed aged 25-74 represent 73.7% of the total number of jobless people estimated for May.
