Romania’s unemployment rate reached 5.51% at the end of February, up 0.05% over January. The rate decreased by 0.33% year-on-year.

Most unemployed were unskilled workers in agriculture, namely 99,707.

The total number of the jobless registered with their county agencies for employment reached 498,531 at the end of February, up 5,116 from end-January.

Male unemployment increased from 6% to 6.05%, whereas female unemployment went up from 4.84% to 4.90%.

At the end of February, 64,834 unemployed were below 25, 41,176 between 25 and 29, 110,488 aged 30 to 39, 142,550 between 40 and 49, 65,159 between 50 and 55, and 74,324 over 55.
