Some 2,000 Romanian, American and British troops will start joint drills in Galati and Constanta, in Romania. Prior to this, Romanian troops have undergone their own drills in four counties, namely Braila, Vrancea, Galati and Buzau. Over 3,000 local troops took part in the military exercises.

The international drill, together with NATO forces, will take place between April 16 and 30. It is called Wind Spring 15 and aims at keeping operational capacities and structures, as well as making sure all standard requests are also met locally.

Some 1,500 troops will be Romanian, with 400 Americans, 170 British, and about 170 from the Republic of Moldova. This drill is one of the measures approved at the security summit in Wales, aiming at securing NATO’s and EU’s western border.
