Retailer Kaufland Romania will open a second hypermarket in Bistrita on a land plot three times larger than the one which hosts the existing Kaufland store in the city, according to Agerpress newswire.

The Bistita city council will discuss the zonal urban planning needed to build the hypermarket at the Bistrita exit towards Vatra Dornei, on an area which used to host the city's green houses.

Kaufland opened the first store in Bistrita in 2006, at the exit towards Cluj, on some 19,000 sqm. It required a EUR 7.5 million investment.
