Kaufland to invest EUR 8 mln in new shopping center in Ploiesti, Romania

German group Kaufland will invest over EUR 8 million in a new hypermarket and a commercial gallery in Ploiesti, Romania, the construction works being scheduled to end in October this year, according to the German group representatives, quoted by Mediafax newswire.

The future commercial center will cover a total area of ​​30,000 sqm, over 7,000 sqm of this area being alloted to a Kaufland hypermarket, according to Cornel Petcu, head of the approvals and permits department of Kaufland Romania. The new hypermarket will have about 100 employees and will offer about 16,000 products for sale, he added.

Currently, Kaufland owns 63 stores in Romania.
