Update: King Charles III reportedly expected in Romania on June 2
Update: Prime minister Nicolae Ciuca confirmed King Charles III’s visit to Romania, News.ro reported. He told journalists on Tuesday that the visit was included on the government agenda, and that the king will also have a meeting with president Klaus Iohannis.
Initial story: King Charles III will visit Romania on June 2 in one of his first visits abroad, according to sources familiar with the visit, quoted by G4media.ro.
According to the sources, the visit was agreed upon at the coronation ceremony, which was attended by Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, together with the Prince Consort. It would be his first visit to Romania as King and one of his first trips outside the UK after his coronation.
The house owned by King Charles in Viscri, referred to as the House of the Prince of Wales in Viscri, has reopened for visitation from April 1.
The traditional Saxon property in the Viscri village, part of the UNESCO World Heritage, hosts at the beginning of the season two new special exhibitions: the exhibition "Sewing for a Cause" of the Association Sewn Signs, which talks about fashion and activism inspired by tradition, and that of ceramic objects "The historical covering – The Paradigm of Restoration", in addition to the permanent exhibition of art and botanical book "The Transylvania Florilegium."
