Turkish fintech hub expands to Romania

Koop, a fintech hub launched based in Istanbul, will launch operations in Romania in partnership with local consultancy firm FO Digi Cap and co-working space provider Commons.
Koop presents itself as an ecosystem enabler with high value-added services for startups, scaleups, corporates, merchants, operators, technology providers, investors, banks, insurance companies and asset managers.
It offers mentorship and advisory, office space, matchmaking, lab services and API Gateway. It focuses on Blockchain, Open Banking, Wealthtech and Insurtech.
Koop has organized four industry summits, six banking roundtables, ten meetups, two international fintech tours and workshops in Turkey and will follow the same model in Romania. Commons will provide co-working and venues for the Koop activities.
“Romania is one of the largest markets in the Eastern Europe. The country may largely benefit from fintech, financial inclusion programs and disruptive technologies such as blockchain and AI. We look forward to supporting the local ecosystem and developing bridges of cross-country collaboration,” said Demet Zubeyiroglu, Koop Co-founder and Managing Director. “We are planning to expand the Koop Program soon to other markets in the region,” he added.
