Largest Chinese wind turbine maker to deliver 50 MW of turbines in Romania

Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Goldwind will install 20 wind turbines in Romania by the end of this year, for its client Monsson Alma, a company controlled by Swedish businessman Emanuel Muntmark. The wind turbines will have a total capacity of 50 MW. The first turbine was recently installed in the village of Mireasa, in Constanta county in the Dobrogea region, where Monsson Alma runs a wind farm.

The contract between the Chinese company and Monsson Alma was signed in 2012, and the recent delivery represents the first Chinese wind turbines installed in Romania and in Eastern Europe.

Delivery of the other wind turbines is schedule to complete by the end of this year, while installation and connection to the grid, by June 2014.

Goldwind is the largest wind turbine producer in China, with around 12,000 units already installed, and a total capacity of 15 GW, according to its data.

Monsson Alma is the largest Monsson Group company, which has been developing wind farm projects in Romania since 2004. It has 500 MW of projects already in operation and 200 MW of projects under construction.
