A Romanian settled in Austria has been selling custom made shoes in Vienna since 1996, Romanian daily Gandul writes. Romanian shoemaker Alexandru Maftei, who has been living abroad for the last 22 years, has been selling custom made shoes in Vienna under the brand Shoemaker Maftei. The shoemaker has also opened a store in Bucharest, but the business has not enjoyed the same success as it does abroad.

US companies have invested USD 1.2 billion in Romania since 2009 and American companies are still interested in making local investments, according to Mark Gitenstein, the US ambassador to Romania. Procter & Gamble is one of these investors, said Gitenstein, quoted by Romanian media.

The first Museum of waste in Europe was inaugurated on Tuesday, in Bucharest, at the initiative of the Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CEDD) and the Ministry of Environment and Forests, with the support of AFI Palace Cotroceni shopping center, where the museum is located.

Hezy Ovadia (in picture) is the new president of United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB), replacing Shachar Shaine from January 2011. Shaine has been leading URBB for the last six years. Ovadia has been working in the FMCG sector and has 19 years of experience.
