Two tourism associations, APDT Brasov and Association Monteoru Renaissance have recently launched the Carpathian Tourism Cluster Romania, a network of regional and national stakeholders in the Romanian tourism industry. The aim of this cluster is to support sustainable tourism development and create additional value for the tourism industry in region of the Carpathian Mountains. Members of the cluster are tourism development associations, NGOs, local and national authorities, tour operators, travel agencies, tourism guides, event agencies, suppliers of the tourism industry and service and consulting companies.
Romanian drivers will not be obliged to equip their vehicles with snow tires this winter. The measure will be implemented starting November 2011. Romanian Transport Minister Anca Boagiu said Thursday drivers who will cause accidents or block streets because their cars are not properly equipped will be fined and will be compelled to cover road-clearing costs if they get snowed in.

Omar Hayssam, convicted of terrorism in Romania, is currently in a Syrian prison, said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in an interview with daily newspaper "Adevarul," adding the two states will discuss a further course of action once Hayssam has served his sentence.
