Le Manoir opens second Petit Bateau store in Bucharest, plans further expansion

11 March 2016

Five years after opening the first Petit Bateau baby wear store in Bucharest’s Baneasa Shopping City, local group Le Manoir has opened a second store on Calea Dorobantilor street in Romania’s capital.

The store, which required an investment of EUR 175,000, covers 60 sqm and is expected to generate sales of EUR 250,000 in the first year.

The new Petit Bateau shop sells clothing and underwear for babies and children up to 12 years, along with a narrower range of clothes for teens and adults.

Le Manoir, the owner of the Petit Bateau franchise in Romania, wants to open a third store in Bucharest in the coming years, and also considers expanding the franchise to other cities across the country.

Le Manoir has been present on the Romanian market since 2004. It also runs a distribution company for gastronomic products and wine for the HORECA sector, the Comtesse du Barry stores, the La Boucherie Française meat shop, the Le Bistrot Fançais restaurant, Michel Cluizel chocolate shop, and the takeaway restaurant SushiRoom.

At a group level, Le Manoir registered a turnover of EUR 5 million in 2015.
