French DIY retailer Leroy Merlin will open its first store in Iasi at the end of this month.

This is the company’s 14th store in Romania and covers an area of 13,000 sqm. The unit will include a drive-in space of 4,000 sqm. About 100 employees will work in the new store.

Leroy Merlin currently has two stores in Bucharest, one store in the Ilfov county, one in Craiova, one near Ploiesti, one store in Brasov, one in Constanta, two shops in Cluj-Napoca, one in Sibiu, one in Suceava, one in Targu Mures, and one in Bacau.

The company’s local competitors include Dedeman, Praktiker, Kingfisher, OBI, and Hornbach.
