Licensing new businesses takes up to 300 days after Colectiv tragedy in Romania
Romanian authorities are now very cautious in licensing new companies, a process that can now take up to 300 days, after to the tragedy that took place in Bucharest’s Colectiv club at the end of October.
The state institutions try to avoid potential liability, say representatives of the Association of Big Commercial Networks in Romania (AMRCR), reports local Mediafax.
The process of licensing commercial activities is very complicated in Romania, according to AMRCR. In countries like Poland or Hungary, it takes ten times less to carry out this procedure.
60 people died in the Colectiv club, in Bucharest, on October 30, after a fire started. The club was functioning without an approval from the Emergency Situations Inspectorate – ISU.
