Romanian brand Timisoreana was the best-selling beer brand on the local market in 2014, a position it held both in 2013 and 2012, according to data from the market research company Canadean, cited by local Ziarul Financiar.

Timisoreana, part of the Ursus Breweries portfolio, is followed by Bucegi (owned by Heineken), and Ciucas (owned by Ursus).

The top 10 beer brands on the local market had a market share of 76% in 2014. The sold beer volumes totaled 17 million hectoliters in 2014, down by 2.56% compared to 2013.

The top 10 beer brands has remained the same in the last three years, except for Ciuc Premium's exit and Noroc's entry. Four of these brands belong to the economy segment, five are mainstream and only one is premium.
