Local finds largest Geto-Dacian coin treasure in Romania, receives reward from PM
Paul Croitoru, the Romanian who recently found the largest treasure of Geto-Dacian coins in the country, received from Prime Minister Victor Ponta a diploma and RON 10,000 (over EUR 2,200) as a reward, reports local Gandul.info.
The treasure, estimated to be 2,400 years old, consists of 309 Geto-Dacian silver coins and 40 fragments of coins, also made of silver.
Croitoru discovered the coins near Cacica commune in Suceava county, using a metal detector. After the discovery, he announced the police and handed the items to the Bucovina Museum.
