Omer Tetik, the current president of Credit Europe Bank Romania, who recently announced he will end his collaboration with the bank mid-May, will most likely be the new general manager of Romanian lender Banca Transilvania, according to Romania media, quoting banking sources. Tetik would replace Robert Rekkers, who resigned in January 2012, after a nine-year mandate. Banca Transilvania chose not to replace Rekkers immediately, so the position has been vacant for over a year. Peter Franklin acted as interim, and at the end of last year, Horia Ciorcila, president and shareholder of the bank, was named at the helm of the bank during this period.

Omer Tetik has been working with Credit Europe Bank since 2000, when the bank was called Finansbank. He became the CEO in 2010, after being vice-president for almost five years.

Tetik graduated the Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi with a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) in economics in 1996.
