Local media: Romanians spend EUR 12 mln a year on anti-stress pills

The sales of anti-stress pills totalled RON 53 million in 2013 (or some EUR 12 million) in Romania, as this category of drugs has been gaining ground in the pharmaceutical industry, reports local business daily Ziarul Financiar.

According to Iulian Rosian, consumer healthcare manager at Sanofi Romania, both the vitamins and supplements market and the specific anti-stress segment recorded growth in recent years.

The sales of anti-stress products increased by 15 percent last year, according to Sanofi, which quotes data from the World Health Organization, writes Ziarul Financiar.

In the anti-stress category, the pharmaceutical company recently launched the Magne­Vie express supplement, for which expects a market share of five percent in the first year.
