Madame Hooligan to play opening for Manu Chao concert in Bucharest
Madame Hooligan, a US band with two Romanian components, will play the opening for the Manu Chao concert scheduled for April 16 at Sala Palatului, in Bucharest. The concert is organized by Emagic and is included in the tour promoting the new project of the artist, Manu Chao La Ventura. Manu Chao's agent attended a Madame Hooligan concert in the Netherlands, liked the ecclectic style of the project and chose the band for the concert opening in Bucharest. Tickets for this concert on April 16th can be purchased online at www.myticket.ro or from Diverta stores at one price category, of RON 108.
Madame Hooligan was created in late 2006 in Los Angeles, California, at the initiative of Romanian Radu Almasan. The band has a unique style that combines neo grunge and alternative rock with typical Romanian vocal and Balkan influences. The band's first single, "Freak The World" landed the first place in the radio station’s top dedicated to indie rock music in the US.
Currently, the band plays in The Ark Underground club in Bucharest, being the first American band resident in a local club. The band will perform in London at the International Live Music Conference that will take place in March.
Madam Hooligan is made of Radu Almajan, Benjamin David Erdreich, Austin Jesse Mitchell and Felix Mircea Moldovan. Listen to a Madame Hooligan song below.
