Gărâna Jazz Fest, one of the most important jazz festivals in Romania, will be running again this year in the village of Gărâna, in Romania’s Semenic mountains, around 30 km away from Resita.

Scheduled to start on July 11 and end on July 14, 2013, the music festival will feature several international artists, such as Bill Frisell - The Big Sur Sextet (U.S.), Arild Andersen Trio (Norway, UK), John Surman - Walhala (UK, Norway), Peter Wertheimer Quartet (Israel), Pawel Kaczmarczyk Audiofeeling Band (Poland), Charles Lloyd - Sangam with Zakir Hussain & Eric Harland (U.S., India), or Magnus Ostrom (Sweden), as well as local artists - Prezent, Irina Popa & The Sinners and JazzyBIT.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate and cost RON 70 per day and RON 250 for a four-day subscription. A three-day pass (Friday to Sunday) costs RON 200.
