Heavy rain caused major floods in towns located in Eastern Serbia, near the Romanian border, according to local media cited by Romanian news agency Mediafax. Kladovo and Negotin, located on the Serbian bank of the Danube, have been isolated due to heavy rains and landslides.

According to meteorologists, 116 liters of rain per square meter fell in Kladovo. The floods were not caused by the Danube, but by torrential streams coming down from nearby hills.
