Manager of Romanian insurer resigns due to “divergent opinion” on the company’s strategy
Lucian Marin, deputy general manager of Gothaer Asigurari, the Romanian subsidiary of German insurance group Gothaer, decided to leave the company due to divergent opinion on the company’s strategy, according to an official announcement of the insurer.
It is less common for Romanian companies to make public the reasons that have led to the departure of top managers. In most cases, the motifs states are either “due to personal reasons” or “to pursue other personal projects”.
“We regret that these divergent opinions on the strategic positioning of the company for the future have led to his resignation,” said Thomas Leicht, the president of the company’s administrative board, who thanked Marin for his contribution to the company’s growth.
Gothaer has 180 employees in Romania and last year it had EUR 15 million in gross premiums underwritten. The company won the contract to insure the fleet of Romanian state owned airline Tarom earlier this year.
