Mayor: Second Mihai Bravu flyover bridge in Bucharest, ready in December
The second bridge of the Mihai Bravu flyover in Southern Bucharest will be ready in December, five and a half months after work started, said Bucharest Mayor Sorin Oprescu.
The first bridge of this flyover, which helps connect the South of the city to downtown, opened in June this year, and is currently being used both ways.
Each of these parallel, 670-meter long bridges above the Dambovita river will become one-way once the second is commissioned. They connect the Mihai Bravu boulevard to Calea Vacaresti and Sudului square, crossing the Spaliul Unirii boulevard.
In August, the association Astaldi Spa – Astalrom won the EUR 35 million contract to finalize this bridge, after the contract with insolvent Romstrade was canceled in 2012.
