Fast-food restaurant chain McDonald’s, operated in Romania under franchise by Malta-based Premier Capital, will add another seven restaurants to its local network that already reached 78 locations at the end of 2018.

The chain boasted a similar expansion rate, of roughly 10%, in 2018 when it added eight new restaurants.

Premier Capital holds the franchise for McDonalds restaurants in six countries across the region but more than half of the 13 new restaurants it plans to open in 2019 are in Romania. The country also hosts more than half of the 147 restaurants operated by Premier Capital in the six countries.

Premier Capital plc is the Developmental Licensee for McDonald’s in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Romania. McDonald’s is the leader of the restaurant market in Romania, with a turnover of EUR 150 million in 2017.
