Medicover aims for EUR 4 mln turnover end-2012 from newly opened hospital
Swedish medical group Medicover has inaugurated its fourth private hospital in Bucharest, with an investment of EUR 20 million. The hospital, which opened end-January in Aviatiei neighborhood in Bucharest, treated 1,500 patients in its first month of activity and generated revenues of EUR 100,000. The operator hopes to end 2012 with EUR 4 million in revenues, according to Cătălina Bălan, general manager of Medicover Romania.
With a capacity of 122 beds and spread over 7,000 sqm, the new seven-floor hospital includes a surgery section, maternity ward and an intensive care unit, among other departments.
Medicover opened an Advanced Diagnostic Center last year with EUR 0.5 million, and invested EUR 300,000 in relocating its clinic in Iasi earlier this year. Medicover, with 11 clinics in Bucharest and other Romanian cities, has around 100,000 patients a year, and 1,500 corporate clients, who pay monthly subscriptions for their employees.
