Medicover puts EUR 50 mln in its first hospital in Bucharest, Pipera area
Private health care services provider Medicover will invest EUR 50 million in its first hospital in Bucharest, which will be located in Pipera area. The hospital is the second biggest such project for the Swedish health care operator Medicover, after a hospital in Warsaw, according to Marina Otelea, general manager of Medicover Romania. The Bucharest hospital will have 88 beds and cover 12,900 sqm.
Medicover got a loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of up to EUR 16.6 million to work on this project. Medicover already owns private clinics in Bucharest, Focsani, Cluj – napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Ploiesti and Timisoara and runs partnerships with 60 clinics across the country.
Medicover is sharing the private health care market with other operators like Medlife, Centrul Medical Unirea, Euroclinic and Sanador.
