Meteorologists expect mild winter in Romania this year
Romania will experience a mild winter this year, with very short periods of low temperatures between December and February, according to data from the National Meteorology Administration (ANM). The average temperature in November will vary between plus 2 and minus 2 degrees Celsius- although on shorter periods of time, they could reach higher temperatures. At the time we're running this article, there are 20 degrees Celsius in Bucharest.
The temperatures during this period are above the normal level for the period but statistically, there have been years in the past with temperatures of 20 degrees in November, according to ANM representatives.
This comes after a harsh 2009- 2010 winter in Romania, with long periods when the temperatures went down to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Romania declared orange code due to the cold at the beginning of 2010, as in some areas of the country, the temperatures were 20 degrees Celsius below the normal level for the period.
