Metro sells its last Real stores in Romania

German group Metro sold the four Real hypermarkets that it still owned in Romania to the company Terazone Enterprises Limited. The deal was completed on January 20, reports Wall-street.ro.

Metro still had four Real stores in Constanta, Suceava, Oradea, and Arad. The German retailer had sold its other Real stores to the French group Auchan four years ago. The remaining four stores had a turnover of EUR 50 million per year.

Terazone Enterprises Limited is represented by Dusan Wilms, who managed Metro’s operations in Romania between 1999 and 2005 and from 2009 until 2013, and Gerardo Monzillo, a former commercial director of Metro Cash&Carry Romania.

Metro has a turnover of EUR 1 billion in Romania and a network of 30 stores.
