Michael Schumacher's Formula 1 Ferrari from 1999, sold at auction in Romania for EUR 177,000
Over EUR 1 million was spent at the collector cars and wines auction held last week-end in Mamaia by Artmark, on the Romanian seaside. The whole lot of collector cars was sold in the auction,with the highest price paid being EUR 177,000 for the Formula 1 Ferrari F399 car, driven by Michael Schumacher in the 1999 season.
The second largest sum paid was EUR 140,000 for the Mercedes 300 Cabrio, "Adenauer", 1953. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Edizione Speciale Carbon Kit, 2009 sold for EUR 131,000.
The collector wines from Heritage restaurant selection sold for EUR 16,000, while the two magazines 'Time' and 'Sports Illustrated', featuring Nadia Comaneci after the Montreal Summer Olympics in 1976 sold for EUR 650. In the sports memorabilia lot, a handball belonging to Stefan Birtalan sold for EUR 600.
Artmark auction house saw its sales up to EUR 11 million in 2011, from EUR 5.5 million in 2010.
