Romanian PM may go to the US this fall
Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose could go to the United States this fall, in an official visit.
George Maior, the Ambassador of Romania to the United States, said on Tuesday that he is currently working on this visit, reports local News.ro.
“The relationship with the US is at the highest level in its post-December history. It will be a very interesting fall. I work intensively on a visit by Prime Minister Tudose to the US,” Maior said.
“The defense minister will also come this September, and we hope that the presidents of the two Chambers will also have meetings with their counterparts.”
Maior added that he is convinced that Prime Minister Mihai Tudose will pay a visit to the US this fall, which will “materialize the strategic aspect achieved by the President’s visit in operational terms, at an economic level, at the level of communication with key members of the American administration.”
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis was in an official visit to the US in early June, during which he also met American President Donald Trump. After the meeting, the two Presidents held a common press conference in which Donald Trump praised Klaus Iohannis for leading the fight against corruption in Romania and for the country’s efforts to increase its defense spending.
