Popular singer in Romania to perform at annual Christmas concert in Vatican
Mihail Sandu, by his stage name simply Mihail, was invited to perform at the annual Christmas concert in Vatican, which will be organized on December 15, local Mediafax reported.
Now in its 26th edition, the Christmas concert in Vatican featured over the years artists such as Patti Smith, Bryan Adams, Al Bano, Tom Jones and Lauryn Hill.
Mihail grew up in the Republic of Moldova but moved to Romania to continue his studies, and became one of the most popular artists in the country. His first single was called “Dans nocturn” but became known as “Ma ucide ea,” being a mix of funk, blues and pop. It soon became a local hit, gathering nearly 70 million views on YouTube so far. Another of Mihail’s songs, “Who you are,” was also very well received by his fans.
Mihail also conquered the music market in Italy, where he had several concerts this summer, as well as the market in Poland. He was invited to sing "Who you are" both in the final of The Voice and in the show Che Tempo Che Fa of the Rai 1 TV station. Also in Italy, the artist ranked first in the Italian Airplay Charts and the Italian Indie Charts, as well as in the iTunes Italy top.
“Who you are” also brought Mihail the golden disc in Italy and the Top Of The Top trophy at the Sopot Festival in Poland.
