British pop band Mike and The Mechanics will perform for the first time in Romania in a concert scheduled for July this year in the Constitution Square, near the Parliament Palace, in Bucharest. The concert will be part of the “Rock the City” festival. Information about ticket prices for the festival has not yet been released.

Mike and The Mechanics is a British rock/pop band formed in 1984 as a side project of Mike Rutherford, a founding member of Genesis. The band started with a self-titled album in 1985. It is known for singles like “Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)”, “All I Need Is a Miracle”, “Word of Mouth”, “Over My Shoulder” and “The Living Years”.

From their 1995 album, “Beggar on a Beach of Gold” until Young's death in 2000, only Rutherford, Carrack and Young were permanent members of the band’s line-up. More about the band here.
