US vice president Mike Pence could visit Romania in the coming months

Unites States’ vice president Mike Pence could visit Romania in the first half of this year following an invitation from Romanian prime minister Viorica Dancila.

Dancila launched the invitation during a phone conversation with the American official on Thursday, February 28, according to a press release from the Romanian Government. The Romanian PM said at local news station Antena 3 that Pence accepted the invitation and would visit Romania in the first half of this year, Economica.net reported.

The two officials touched several important subjects during their phone conversation, among them the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the US, security, and NATO, according to the press release issued by the Romanian Government.

Mike Pence is the 48th and current vice president of the United States. Before taking over this position, he was Governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2017 and a member of the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013.
