Minister: Farmers in Romania, tax-free on agricultural equipment
Farmers will no longer pay taxes on agricultural machinery if local authorities agree to the measure.
Farmers pay local taxes on the agricultural machinery they own.
The new Fiscal Code will allow the municipalities to levy tax on agricultural machinery, said the Finance Minister Darius Valcov, cited by local Economica.net.
If one mayor does not agree, the farmer can register their tractor in the neighboring village.
The new Fiscal Code will also provide tax exemptions for greenhouses, solars, seedbeds, silos or barns for cereal storage.
However, the current draft law failed to introduce these provisions, but it was only out of a clerical error, the Minister said.
