More demand for exotic destinations, and early booking in Romania

25 September 2014

The tourism market trends for next year show an increase of over 30% in demand for exotic destinations, such as the Maldives, Caribbean and Asia, more early bookings and online reservations, according to Cosmin Marinof, sales manager at TUI TravelCenter through Eurolines, cited by local Agerpres.

About 65% of travel bookings in Romania are currently made online, while the market of traditional agencies fell towards 24%. In Romania, most of the sales for summer holidays are made in March, while in other European countries, such as Germany, they are made in January.

One of the changes registered on the local market this year is that Romanians book the New Year’s Eve holiday in September, instead of November-December. Austria and Bulgaria remain most popular among Romanians who want to spend winter holidays skiing, while the Dominican Republic and Singapore are the main “hot” destinations. Dubai is also a destination that starts to grow among Romanian tourists.
