04 November 2014

The number of building for which owners have applied for a green certificate has increased from 2 to 200 in the last five years in Romania, said Steven Borncamp, CEO of Romania Green Building Council (RoGBC), quoted by local wall-street.ro.

The market has evolved and now local building owners are trying to get higher green certificates, such as LEED Gold and BREEAM Excellent, which reflect higher levels of energy efficiency and a healthier work environment, according to Borncamp.

He says that more and more local companies understand the benefits of having better and healthier work conditions for their employees, with lots of natural light, better design and easy access to public transport, while demand for such office spaces is growing.
