More Romanians file complaints with the Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing
The number of complaints filed with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) has grown continuously in recent years.
According to George Grigore, the authority’s representative, the number of complaints ANSPDCP received increased from a few hundred in 2014 to more than 1,000 last year. Most of the complaints refer to people’s relations with banks and financial banking institutions, reports local Agerpres.
However, there have also been cases where the employers have taken some wrong steps in supervising their employees.
“The companies usually want to use several means to supervise employees. Starting from a simple access control system by magnetic cards, to biometric means, video surveillance, the supervision of the online activities, and so on,” said George Grigore.
ANSPDCP issued total fines of some RON 680,000 (EUR 153,000) last year, up by 140% over 2014.
