More Romanians go to the mall than to National Day parade

Over 100,000 Romanians went to the Afi Palace Cotroceni shopping center in Bucharest yesterday, on Romania's National Day (December 1). More Romanians went to the shopping center than to the military parade organized in the capital city, according to the mall owners.

The shopping center's traffic was double an average day's. Around 10,000 people turned up for concerts at the ice rink, organized for the occasion. AFI expects between 75,000 and 80,000 people a day during this week-end too.

Around 40,000 Romanians attended the military parade organized downtown Bucharest yesterday.
