The number of individual debtors to banks and nonbank financial institutions (NBFIs or IFNs in Romanian) increased by 3.97% year-on-year in November 2014, from 685,489 to 712,737, according to data from the National Bank of Romania (BNR), cited by local Capital.ro.

The number went up by 9.27% compared to October 2014, when there were 652,268 debtors.

The total number of arrears amounted to 949,172 in late November 2014, while their total value is over EUR 2.42 billion.
