More transparent rules for telecom offers in Romania
Romania’s Communication Authority ANCOM has imposed new obligations on the way telecom operators communicate their offers, which will enter into force starting June 27. The operators need to make their offers more transparent and tariffs clearer.
Clients who want to purchase phone or internet services currently have over 300,000 offers to choose from, according to data provided by the veritel.ro platform, which compares telecom offers.
Romania has over 23 million mobile phone SIM cards and over 16 million broadband internet connections, whereas almost 7 million households have access to TV services, according to ANCOM.
The average Romanian phone user uses 155 MB of mobile data every month, talks for 202 minutes to other numbers in the same network and 47 minutes outside the network and sends 72 text messages.
