Most Romanians consider VAT cut on food a good measure
Nine out of 10 Romanians consider that the VAT cut on food is a good measure because it will lead to lower prices, according to a CSCI poll.
Only 7% consider it is a bad measure, whereas 3% offered no answer or don’t know what to answer.
Meanwhile, 8 out of 10 believe the cut will help the economy, by boosting consumption, and 7 out of 10 said the drop will help Romanian companies.
Some 40% believe that lowering VAT on food will increase other taxes, to cover 'holes' to the state budget.
