National gas transport company Transgaz makes EUR 87.3 million profit

Romanian national gas transport company Transgaz made a profit of EUR 87.3 million last year, an increase of 23 percent on the previous year. The company's turnover advanced by 10.5 percent, to EUR 311.6 million.

Its revenues increased mainly due to the adjustment of regulated tariffs for natural gas transport services, to an increase in revenues from international transit caused by the evolution of the exchange rate, as well as to the higher quantity of gas transported during this period, according to the company.

Transgaz, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (symbol TGN), is owned by the Romania state – with 73.5 perdent of the shares. Fondul Proprietatea owns 15 percent of the shares, while 11.5 percent of them are free-float on the BSE.
