Net investments in Romania's economy, down by 5.9%

Net investments in Romania’s economy went down by 5.9% in the first nine months compared to the same period last year, decreasing to EUR 9.6 billion, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The decrease was tempered by developments in the third quarter, when investments had a 0.1% growth.

Investments in new construction works amounted to EUR 4.4 billion between January and September 2014, representing 46.2% of the total. Investments in equipment and transport machinery amounted to EUR 4 billion, representing 42.3% of the total, reads the INS release.

The net investments rose 0.1% in the third quarter of the year compared to same period last year, to EUR 3.9 billion, following the increase in other expenses and equipment category (including transport), by 24, 6%, respectively 4.3%.
